Ground Coupling Systems Design

A typical ground water-source heat pump installation consists of:

  1. A water-source heat pump,
  2. A heat pump desuperheater coupled to a conventional hot water tank,
  3. A loop circulating pump system with insulated lines to circulate water or an anti-freeze solution through the heat pump and ground heat exchanger coils,
  4. A supply and return air duct system,
  5. Optional plenum heater for winter supplemental or emergency heating,
  6. A condensate drain line, and
  7. An accessible air filter assembly.
